Interpol is the International Criminal Police Organisation (ICPO). Its headquarters are in Lyon/France and it is constituted of:
- The General Assembly.
- The Executive Committee.
- The Secretariat General, (IPSG)
- The National Central Bureaus, (NCBs)
- The Counsellors.

The aims of Interpol are:
A- Assuring and promoting cooperation among the criminal police authorities within the limits of each member country legal system and according to the Declaration of Human Rights.
B- Creating and developing institutions that have an effective role in preventing common law crimes.
It should be highlighted that Interpol is forbidden to interfere in any political, military, religious, or racial issue.

The member countries (181) help the Organization reach its goals through the creation of a body in each country called the National Central Bureau (NCB). This Bureau is responsible of the contacts with the other national bodies, the NCBs of the other countries, and the Secretariat General, in order to implement the principles and aims of the Organisation.
